◷ The Honest Bread Pledge

  1. I bake my bread from scratch, on my own premises.
  2. I use no artificial additives or processing aids.
  3. I'll tell any customer exactly what's in a loaf.
  4. I won’t call something "freshly baked" if it arrived frozen.

Good to know

For bakers, answered

Does it cost anything to be listed?
No. A base listing is free, and searching is always free. Claiming your listing and signing the pledge is free too. Only Featured and Boost placement is paid, and that only changes visibility.
How do I get the verified stamp?
Claim your listing and sign the four-line pledge. Your status becomes baker-signed and the Honest stamp shows on your profile and cards. It takes a couple of minutes.
My bakery is already listed but I did not add it. Why?
We compile listings from public sources so customers can find real bakers, and label them publicly sourced with a citation. If one is yours, claim it to take ownership, correct it, or ask us to remove it.
What if I buy in some of my bread?
The pledge is about bread you bake from scratch on your premises without additives. Be open with customers about which lines are yours and which are bought in, and only sign for the real thing.
