This is the whole policy, in plain English. It is short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Honest Bread (honestbread.co.uk) is run by Jon Blades, trading as Honest Bread, in the United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, email [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Directory listings. Business information about bakeries: name, address, website, what they bake. Compiled from public sources or submitted by the baker. This describes businesses, not private individuals.
- Forms. When you add a bakery, claim a listing or sign the pledge, we collect what you type: your name, email address and the bakery details. We use it to verify and publish the listing and to reply to you, nothing else.
- Payments. Featured and Boost payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. We receive your email address, the plan you chose and the bakery it applies to.
- Email. If you email us, we keep the thread for as long as it is useful for dealing with you.
- Server logs. The site runs on Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived technical logs (IP addresses, requests) for security. We do not use them to profile anyone.
What we do not do
- No advertising trackers, social pixels or third-party analytics scripts.
- No selling, renting or swapping of data, ever.
- No marketing emails you did not ask for.
Cookies
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Functional cookies may be set where they are strictly needed, for example during a Stripe checkout. Links to Amazon in our baking guides take you to Amazon, where Amazon’s own privacy notice and cookies apply; those links may carry a referral tag, as explained in our affiliate disclosure.
Where it lives
Form submissions are stored in our database and an operations sheet, hosted by Cloudflare and Smartsheet. Transactional email is sent through Resend and Amazon SES. Payments live in Stripe. Each processor sees only what it needs.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] and it will be handled quickly and without fuss. If you are unhappy with how we deal with it, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly make it worse.
