Batch Loaf
A batch loaf is baked with the tins or pieces touching, so the loaves prove and bake against one another. The result is soft, torn sides where they joined and a firm crust on the top and base.
Honest Bread lists 26 bakers across the UK and Ireland known for batch loaf, each baking from scratch with no additives. A high-street favourite across Ireland and the North of England.
